Faultory is an independent project by Yunus Emre Vurgun. This notice describes the current investigation website.
No accounts or cloud progress
There is no login or signup. Reasoning choices, reviewed evidence markers and completion state are saved in localStorage under the Faultory progress key on your browser. They are not sent to our server or to analytics. Use Your notebook to export, import or reset them. Anyone with access to your browser profile may be able to see them. Clearing site data or using another device may lose this progress.
Offline storage
A service worker stores public pages and assets in the browser’s Cache Storage so the investigation library can work offline. These caches contain public site content, not personal profiles. Website updates change asset caches separately from progress storage. You can remove offline data through your browser’s site settings.
Technical requests
Namecheap hosts the site and Cloudflare handles DNS and delivery when active. These providers may process IP addresses, requested URLs, request times, browser information and security events to deliver and protect the site. Their logging, retention and processing follow their service settings and privacy policies. Faultory does not operate its own user-profile database.
Optional Google Analytics
When configured, the Google Analytics tag is loaded only after you choose Allow analytics. Declining leaves it unloaded. We save that choice locally in your browser. Advertising storage, advertising user data and advertising personalization remain denied. The site respects Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track by leaving analytics off. Analytics may process page views, browser/device information, approximate location and identifiers under Google’s privacy policy. We do not send your reasoning choices, reviewed-exhibit markers, notebook exports or investigation progress.
Use Analytics preferences in the footer to change your choice. Withdrawal stops collection on this site and attempts to remove accessible Google Analytics cookies. It does not erase data already collected by Google. Your investigation progress is unaffected. If analytics is not configured, the preferences control is absent and no Google Analytics tag is loaded.
External sources and book purchases
Opening a source link or the creator’s contact page takes you to another website with its own practices. Book links lead to the creator’s Gumroad store, where purchases and payment processing take place. Faultory does not receive card details. No embedded Gumroad tracker or checkout is required to explore the cases.
Questions, corrections and requests
Contact the creator through yunusemrevurgun.com/contact for privacy questions or requests concerning information handled by the project. Describe the relevant service and dates so the request can be assessed. We cannot retrieve your browser-only notebook from a server. This notice will change if the project’s processing changes.
